Care and Maintenance

Copper Instincts furniture is sealed with clear paste wax to protect the natural finish from spills and oxidation. To keep your copper looking its best, apply a very thin coat of clear paste wax every few weeks, or whenever water stops beading on the surface. Allow the wax to dry for 5–10 minutes, then buff with a clean, dry cotton cloth. If scratches or stains occur, allow the copper to naturally regain its color through exposure to the air, then reseal the area with paste wax. Never use metal polish, as it can strip away the copper’s natural patina. 

 Our wood furniture is finished with oil-based stains and protected with a clear lacquer coat for lasting durability. For everyday care, simply keep the surface clean and dry. If the dark brown wood develops a small nick or scratch, dark brown Briwax paste wax can be used to blend and conceal the affected area. Simply apply a small amount, buff it off, and your furniture is ready to enjoy. 

Copper Instincts hand-forged iron bases are primed, painted, and sealed using a durable six-step finishing process designed to resist corrosion, even in salty coastal environments. Very little maintenance is required. Simply dust the iron periodically to keep it clean, and apply wax if desired for additional protection. With minimal care, the finish will remain beautiful for years to come.
